Instruments Played: Bagpipes...in times past, clarinet, piano	Family: Husband Gary, two daughters, Morgan, 20, a junior in college, and Gwen, 16, a junior in high school Hobbies: Going out with friends, reading needlework What originally got you into playing? Our high school band in Statesville, NC was a British Grenadier band, with a bagpipe section that marched in front for parades. If you played pipes (only girls did) you wore a short tartan skirt, and if you played clarinet, the red coat and tall bearskin hat. So it was a fashion thing...right up until the time I wrapped my hands around a practice chanter and fell in love. Facts About June: I taught high school English for the first eight years of my adult life. I was Miss Congeniality in my hometown beauty pageant. We live in a 1780's Pennsylvania stone farmhouse, with two cats, one dog, two wild cats that live under the porch, two foxes that live behind the pool, seven deer that visit frequently, and one horse that is away at boarding school. My husband Gary is a Revolutionary War re-enactor and played pipes for a long time. He is a retired Yonkers swat cop, and was active in the 9/11 rescue effort.
