Lead Drummer Derek Cooper Wins the Professional Gold Medal at Winter Storm!

The Ulster Scottish Pipe Band was formed in 1922, making it one of the oldest pipe bands in the United States.  It is a Grade 3 competition band, and was honored several years ago and in Jan 2007 by opening for several Rod Stewart concerts.  The Band is under the direction of Pipe Major Dave Hall and Lead Drummer Derek Cooper and is located just outside of Philadelphia, PA.

The Thomas I Hall Memorial Pipe Band was formed in 2005, in remembrance of Tom Hall.  Tom was Pipe Major of the Ulster Scottish Pipe Band for 42 years.  TIHMPB is a Grade 4 competition band.  The Band is under the direction of Pipe Major Traci Cooper (Tom's Daughter) and Drum Sergeant Eric Knudsen.

The bands compete at an average of 10 Scottish Games each year, and also in a few parades and performances.  We are a family oriented band focused on competition.   Both bands are dedicated to teaching.  We are always looking for new members.  We practice weekly in Devon, PA, and occasionally in Elkton, MD.  If you are interested in becoming a member, please e-mail us.
